Hello folks, sorry it took a while for me to update this website, my life has just been so hectic, and I want to put my best into each and every post. So, yea, I'm telling you guys my opinion on the 5 best films in the animation side of 2010. Now, the reason I'm not doing 2011 is because I haven't seen all of the animated 2011 films, and though same goes for 2010, 2011 I missed a lot of fan favorites like Tintin or Aurther, and all I missed is Secret of Kells and that owl movie. So, let's go back in time to 2010, one of the best animated film years of all time.
5. Shrek Forever After (2010, of course, have you been paying attention earlier?) A lot of people have been hating on this film, and I can see why, it's not exactly original or is doesn't share the glamour of Shrek 2, but I do think it is a good finale to the Shrek franchise. This is my 2nd favorite Shrek film, behind the first sequel. Here it has Rumpletilskin, problalby my favorite Shrek villian, a good explanation on what would happen to the characters if they never met Shrek, and a lot of suspence. Yes, some of the humor is bland and the main plot we've all heard before, but overall, it's a great finale from a great franchise.
4. Despciable Me (2010, wow you're not very smart are you) The funniest film of the year in my opinion, this was a very fun movie. I loved the characters, I loved the villians, I loved the story, the comedy, and eispecially the minions. But, really, to me the part I remember the most is the heart. This is from the same minds behind The Lorax, which I am to review next. Overall, this is a great family movie that everyone will enjoy, even the dog.
3. How to Train your Dragon (1649, HA!) Can you beleive this is Dreamworks, the drama and sophisicated tone of the movie is the complete opposite of other films that come to mind when you hear Dreamworks animation. Yes, this is from the same distributers of Shark Tale and Chicken Run. I truly think this is a masterpiece, but there are some flaws. Like, some plot elements aren't very original, some of the characters/ voice acting isn't too appealing, and I wish they gave us more background on the different dragons instead of only showing a few. But, it makes up for it with it's great drama, good comedy, and an overall 'hot' way to spend 90 minutes. Get it, hot, because dragons breathe fire, and, well, there goes the humor. Sigh.
2. Tangled (Wow, just, wow) I loved Princess and the Frog, but, Tangled toped it. You may think it's because of CGI, but no, I actually kind of wish it was 2d, that may be one of it's biggest flaws. It's that, well, they took a fairy tail and added more reason and realism to it while keeping it's magic, and adding something extra. I think it's strongest point is the two sidekicks, who I can call the best Disney sidekicks of all time. Maximus (my favorite) the horse, and Pascal the chamelion. Besides the whole CGI thing, other flaws are that some of the songs aren't that memoriable or fit with the film style, but I've got a Dream and The Fog is Lifted are good in Disney expectations. But, other than that, it's a great film for the 50th annual Disney animated classic. Better than Snowwhite I PROMISE YOU THAT!
1. Toy Story 3 (OK, IF YOU DON'T KNOW I WILL FIND YOUR SISTER'S DOG AND PUT IT IN A PICKLE JAR!) Of course, Pixar wins number one here. Honsetly, I didn't think the first two toy story films weren't that impressive. Don't get me wrong, I loved them, they just didn't offer anything really too special, so my expectations were kind of low here. I was excited, but I wasn't aniticipating it as much as I was for Up. But, I saw it, and, wow, I was impressed. Major improvement and finale to a ledgendary animated trilogy. One of my all time favorites, and personally, I think this is Pixar's best work. If you haven't seen it, telling you who the villian is will be spoiling it, but it really is a suprise, and really, it makes a great villian! Plus, this is one of the most bittersweet endings in a movie period! So, the flaws are... the flaw is that there are no flaws. It's perfect! So, that's my five favorite animated movies of 2010, and I reccomend all the films here. Now, why wasn't Megamind on the list? Don't hasstle me, just because you can leave comments doesn't mean you should use it! Dont' scroll down! So, bye bye, good day, and good night.
